Food Story

Gargano’s focus on nutrition didn’t really start until he was an undergrad working on an exercise science degree. Healthy eating was the last thing on his mind as an adolescent, and that led to a steep learning curve as he aged. Being young and constantly playing sports allowed him to get away with a poor diet. In college, though, he realized that exercise is only half the battle to good health — you can’t out-exercise a bad diet! As he worked on his Master’s in public health, he focused on childhood obesity and being able to give children a strong foundation in good nutrition practices so they have the tools to be healthy adults.
