Food Story

Milburn grew up in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, immersed in apple orchards, cow fields and a rich local food culture. Her mom's Virginia garden and kitchen inspired her current love for improvising new recipes in her tiny New York City apartment kitchen and trying to grow food in her backyard. Milburn became interested in the ways that the agricultural system affects human and environmental health during undergrad at Appalachian State University. She enjoys learning about and working towards the reduction of barriers to healthy food access in the United States.
