For the last 50+ years, our vision has been clear: To conduct strong nutrition research and evaluation and more specifically to collaborate on efforts to promote food and nutrition security in the United States. This growth has allowed us to support hundreds of programs and initiatives throughout the nation in multiple focus areas such as healthy eating and active living, improving food and nutrition security, healthy food access, promoting local food systems and applying a health equity lens across all initiatives.
As we rounded the corner of our 50th year, it became clear that our work was evolving in ways we never imagined. From a small team based in Omaha to a nationwide all remote staff of nearly 60 scientists and other professionals who bring talent and dedication to support our mission.
In May 2024, we changed our name to Center for Nutrition & Health Impact. By adding “health impact,” we are acknowledging the larger sphere of work we are engaged in over the last 15 years and well as our work moving ahead. Our hope is for our work to have positive, lasting health impacts across multiple communities, over several generations. This is an ambitious goal, but one we are taking on wholeheartedly. While nutrition is always at our center, this rebrand reflects our unwavering innovation and exploration of other areas to spur progress.
It is at the core of what we do.
