Food Story

As a young person, Morales Serrano's experience with disordered eating led to a transformative change in 2018 when they discovered veganism. By adopting this lifestyle, Morales Serrano found peace by aligning their daily choices with deeply-held values and fostering a healthier, more positive outlook on life. This experience motivated Morales Serrano to seek ways to serve communities where food resources are difficult to access and share their newfound love for food. Their innate desire to help others and promote food security led them to plan and run a vegan community kitchen for people affected by the earthquakes in Puerto Rico during 2020. Their greatest gratification from this experience was to earn the trust of those they served.

Morales Serrano is dedicated to serving the community, no matter the modality; they are happy to cook and directly distribute food to communities, as well as advocate for nationwide efforts to eliminate food insecurity and support food sovereignty. They are currently pursuing a specialization in Plant-Based Culinary Arts to continue growing as a nutrition and health professional while promoting improved access to nutritious and delicious food for all.
