Overview: The American Evaluation Association, a professional association of evaluators, held its 2024 conference to facilitate learning and discussion with new and established evaluators to create a stronger future together. Based on peer-to-peer learning, Evaluation 2024 focused on mentoring those new to the field and elevating fresh perspectives to address diversity, sustainability and the evolution of evaluation.  

Main takeaways and highlights: Dr. Parks attended the week-long event and participated in plenary sessions, workshops and presentations focused on education and learning, social and cultural impact, artificial intelligence and government and public policy. During these sessions, she learned about creating deeper and more meaningful community engagement practices, addressing common pitfalls and utilizing artificial intelligence tools like concept mapping and core component analysis in evaluation.
