Food Story

One of Shaw’s first memories as a kid was helping her mom tend to their backyard garden. The family has a polaroid picture of 5-year-old Shaw in a Cruella de Vil sweater holding a cucumber the size of her face, evidently beaming from all her hard work. This childhood introduction to food systems helped shape her interest today in supporting local food systems and reducing barriers to healthy food access for community members across the United States.
