Food Story
Eastman’s first job was at a greenhouse with a small barn and she has loved growing things (and goats) ever since. After becoming a dietitian and working clinically for about five years, her interest in the social determinants of health and food systems grew. Eastman pursued her masters in development practice and transitioned to a food access role where she was able to both experience the needs of the community and appreciate the work of farmers and food entrepreneurs in Northeast Ohio. Eastman is passionate about increasing access and understanding the intersections of food systems, food justice and health equity. Personally, she loves cooking but usually can’t make the exact same thing twice as she’s making up the recipe as she goes.
