Food Story

Eldridge focused her graduate studies on sustainable food systems, completing her Masters Capstone on the integration of food systems into K-12 curriculums to foster environmental stewardship in children. She was reminded how people of any age can find a way to connect with food and therefore their environment. As a member of the Sustainable Food Systems Initiative, Eldridge worked on urban farms across Southeastern Michigan, where she participated in community conversations on the role of urban farming as a method of healing, subversion and reclamation. Beyond her interest in the intersection of food and environmentalism, Eldridge enjoys exploring a new city through food, especially plant-based restaurants and ice cream parlors.
