Survey opportunity to provide valuable information to help households in need

------- + -------

Over the next few weeks several organizations will be administering a survey to better understand the issues listed below and how they may or may not be related to food insecurity:

  • Your household’s economic condition

  • Budgeting, planning, and financial stress

  • Your opinions about your community

  • Your opinions about food available to your household

  • Cooking skill and food equipment

  • Control over the types of food your household eats

This information will help the following organizations have more information about the households we serve:

  • UCSD Center for Community Health (CA)

  • Tampa Bay Network to End Hunger (FL)

  • Aaron's Place (MD)

  • Hunger and Health Coalition (NC)

  • Hope Source (WA)

  • North County Food Pantry (WA)

  • University District Food Bank (WA)

The survey will take about 30-40 minutes to complete and has about 75-85 questions (depending on how certain questions are answered). Each person that completes a survey will receive a $25 gift card.

If you are interested in participating, click to access the survey.

After completing the survey, you will be offered a $25 gift card. Only one gift card is allowed per household. At the end of the survey, you will indicate how you want to receive the gift card and will be asked for some information to make sure it gets to you. Your contact information will only be used for the purposes of this study and never shared beyond those working on this study.

We are partnering with the Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition (www.centerfornutrition.org), a non-profit research institute, on this survey. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Leah Carpenter at lcarpenter@centerfornutrition.org.
