  • Food as Medicine: Understanding the Biden Strategy on Hunger, Nutrition and Health – Focus on Pillars 1, 2, 3 & 4 

Main takeaways and highlights: The Nutrition Leadership Network provides training, support, technical assistance and opportunities for collaborative learning so that the practice of public health nutrition is strengthened across the western states. Dr. Carmen Byker Shanks, Dr. Hilary Seligman and Dr. Yue Liao led a Food as Medicine panel focused on applying the White House strategy to hunger, nutrition, and health work in practice. Dr. Byker Shanks presented about strategies to improve food access and affordability and empowering consumers in the food system.
